Welcome to the new ILEAS Training Center!
Located in Urbana, IL, the new ILEAS training center and headquarters
is one of the premier training centers for first responders in the country. This project,
which began in the summer of 2007, has led to a cutting edge and
multi-functional facility like none other. ILEAS was able to
rehabilitate an old, unused nursing home and redevelop it into a great
facility to train law enforcement officers and other emergency responders.
The campus contains over 120,000 square feet of office, classroom,
storage, and training space on a 13-acre campus. The classrooms can seat up
to 360 students, with rooms ranging in size from small and intimate
(12 people) to our more accommodating auditorium which can seat nearly 120
people. There are hundreds of rooms and 125 hospital beds that can be
used for a number of training sequences or a surge center in times of
disaster.
The training center is state of the art, with over 35 computers available
in the computer labs, classrooms, and business center. There are
nearly 40 wireless access points that enable training classes to utilize our
portable HD video cameras to record training throughout the center.
Additionally, there will be WiFi access to instructors, students, and
visitors of the center who want to bring their own computers or pda's.
The ILEAS Training Center is more than just an excellent facility for
training and meetings. It can also be used by state, local, and federal
officials as a "special needs" surge center providing a much needed emergency
medical shelter during disasters. Many of the previous nursing home
rooms are being rehabilitate to make the site uniquely suited to be used as
an emergency surge center.
Any of the rooms are available for rent for meetings or training.
The facility also has eight fully furnished offices for rent to nonprofit
public safety-related agencies.
